Of Carrick, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at age 87. Carol was an Educator, Singer, Actor, but most importantly, a wife and a mother. Carol is survived by Michael Stasik, her husband of nearly 57 years, and two sons, Paul (Marla) of Portland, OR, and Mark (Nancy) of Columbus, OH, along with two granddaughters, Megan and Michelle. Also survived by her sister Joan Scheidl Ammon, as well as nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

A long-time teacher at St. Albert the Great grade school, Carol received the honored Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching which celebrates teachers who exemplify academic excellence. One of Carol’s students posted on her Facebook: “… having Mrs. Stasik as a teacher is the reason that I fell in love with science. That love directed me into engineering and into the career I’ve been blessed to have.” After retirement, Carol worked as a Standardized Patient at Pitt Medical School which utilized her acting abilities. Over the years she performed in musicals with the Pittsburgh Savoyards, Camelot Productions, and Jude Pohl Productions. Carol also appeared in various commercials and even as an extra in a movie. As a singer, she cantored in various churches, and formerly sang with the Sweet Adelines and the South Hills Chorale. In addition, Carol was most recently an Associate of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God.

Private burial in Penn Forest Natural Burial Park, Verona, with a memorial service planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God, 5802 Curry Road, Pittsburgh PA 15236. Carol’s family would also like to acknowledge Commonwealth Hospice and Whitetail Springs Memory Care Community assisted living facility for their care.
