Evelyn L. Starkey

Evelyn L. Starkey of Penn Hills, age 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2021, at Woodhaven Care Center in Monroeville. She was born May 28,1949, in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of Frank and Margaret Starkey. Mother of Dennis and David Vosachlo and grandmother of Delia Vosachlo. Dear sister of Harold Starkey (Debra) of Murrysville, and beloved aunt of Adam Starkey, Matthew Starkey, and Sarah Lassiter. Evelyn worked at J.C. Penny CCSC (Catalog Customer Service Center) for over 30 years. Evelyn loved to dance and belonged to the JCC Israeli Dance Group and the International Folk Dance Group in Pittsburgh and danced with several other local folk dance groups. An outdoor memorial service will be held in the Sycamore Pavilion at Penn Hills Community Park at the end of Colorado Street in Penn Hills on Sunday, April 18, at 2:00pm with a private interment in Penn Forest Natural Burial Park in Penn Hills to follow. If desired, a memorial contribution may be made in Evelyn’s name to John Neba International Ministries through the Verona United Presbyterian Church, 566 South Avenue, Verona PA 15147, to help build schools in Africa.
